Sri Kaliswari Trust formed by a team of Philanthropists with youth and wisdom acquired over rich experience, embarked on starting a college of arts and science under the name and style of Sri Kaliswari College to provide value based higher education and to train the students to be fit for the new millennium.

The Government of Tamil Nadu in its G.O.No.190 dated 07-06-2000 graciously granted its approval to start the college in the academic year 2000 - 2001. It was affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University.

The college, which was started with just three courses in the year 2000-2001, now has 12 Under Graduate courses, 6 Post Graduate Courses and two Research Programmes affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University.

Besides the College conducts various Job Oriented Certificate Courses with a view to help the students to acquire additional skills, which will help their academic pursuit and also to increase their employment opportunities. The Certificates courses Industrial Safety and Safety matches and fireworks have been more specifically developed and offered to suit the local needs.

Thus Sri Kaliswari College is the fastest knowledge - disseminating light house among the arts and science colleges in South India with cheer dedication to higher quality of education and vision to contribute highly talented youth, capable to make the nation a better one. Our mission is to educate students from all over Tamil Nadu and other States including those from the local and rural areas, so that they become enlightened individuals improving the living standards of their families and the society. We provide individual attention for the Quality of Education and take care of character building. Hence our College is "A place to learn; an opportunity to grow". The above are not mere masket phantoms but true.

The college is housed in a 17.5-acre campus in a three-storied Palatial Building on the Sivakasi Virudhunagar Highway, at a distance of about 7 k.m from Sivakasi. Classrooms, Laboratories, Library, Conference Hall, Hostels and Playground have been designed, following the modern sophisticated methods with rich aesthetic value. It can be termed as a marvel of the new millennium Architecture.

Separate hostels for men and women with modern amenities are available in the campus. A mineral water plant is installed for drinking water. Frequent buses are available from both Virudhunagar and Sivakasi to the College. To bring the students from Virudhunagar, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sattur, Vembakottai and Sivakasi, the college has owned a large no. of buses. This facility is going to be extended to other neighboring towns in future. Not to imbibe the students in the name of bus fare, a nominal charge is being levied from them.

STD / ISD / PCO: For the benefit of the students, a booth with STD / ISD / PCO facilities is available in the campus.
